TRL Presentation.... "Crash and Crime scene investigation and reconstruction
using video and 3D Computer technology"
 
 
Mike Annear Senior Consultant at Investigations and Risk Management, TRL Australia, will be available in Perth to talk about TRL UK and TRL Australia. He will give case examples of:
  • The use of 3D laser scanners for reconstructing crash and crime scenes.
  • How the 3D 'Data Cloud' from a 3D scanner is sorted; output formats possible from static 3D models; 'real-time' walk-throughs, etc.
  • The use of Vehicle motion simulation software (HVE) for investigating vehicle crashes.
  • The use of CCTV footage for vehicle Identification.
  • 3D Camera matching techniques for validating 3D models from CCTV footage.
  • Some of the issues concerning admissibility of this type of evidence in courts.
