The science focus of this program is materials that react and change. Examples of materials that reaction and change will be woven into a crime story. The program is based around a series of television programs in which a narrator would tell a running crime story. At regular intervals the story would pause to allow students to carry out investigations. At the end students were invited to work out who the culprit is, using clues given throughout the program.
This program was developed as part of the Science and Technology Education in Primary Schools (STEPS) initiative of the Department of Education in Victoria. It was originally broadcast in February 1996. The support material seems to be no longer available on the DEET website (SofWeb) and enquires to date have elicited no response. The support material is presented as originally downloaded from the STEPS site for educational use only and copyright remains with the original owners.
