Forensic science facilities do not generally take secondary school work experience students. Placements may be available as part of a work placement program run as part of a University course.
It is possible to undertake Honours, Masters of PhD research projects in conjunction with forensic science facilities, but this needs to be negotiated through the relevant University.

In addition to a strong science background, forensic science employers are looking for maturity and good communication skills. Work experience placements that give the student exposure to scientific environments or situations requiring good written and oral communication skills, would be appropriate for a student considering forensic science as a career.
