The key functions of the Board of Control are to:

oversee the general administration and performance of the function of NIFS;
determine policy, methods and procedures necessary for the effective functioning of NIFS;
examine management control, change of procedures and other relevant matters; and
make appropriate recommendations to the Council to improve the effectiveness of NIFS.
