The Virtual Reality Crime Scene

Through the use of VR technology the user can move through the crime scene and explore as required by letting their mouse do the walking. The user can zoom in and out on any part of the scene to enhance their investigation, while potential evidence can be identified and examined in detail.

While familiarising themselves with the crime scene the user can choose full screen mode then return to normal view to interface with the program. The user can also choose either low or high resolution mode.

The program gives the user the opportunity to familiarise themselves with and explore the VR tools in a simple VR crime scene prior to entering the assessment section and the case scene.

The VR crime scene has been developed through careful staging of a realistic crime scene by an experienced team of crime scene investigators. The scene is also designed to challenge the user to apply the criteria for crime scene investigation in the most efficient manner.
